The convention is aimed at bringing the Tea Party Movement leaders together from around the nation for the purpose of networking and supporting the movements' multiple organizations principle goals. Provisions of House Healthcare Reform Bill
- Does not include the $200+ Billion "doc fix" provision so the real cost of the bill is far higher than the advertised amount
- A government run insurance plan
- Additional taxes on some existing insurance plans
- $20 Billion in new taxes on medical device makers
- At least $80 Billion in new taxes on pharmaceutical companies
- Public funding for abortion
- Medicare end-of-life planning provision (a.k.a. Death Panels)
- Imposes a 2.5% tax on anyone who does not purchase an "approved" insurance plan
- Imposes an 8% tax on companies that do not provide health insurance for employees
- New regulations on vending machines
